This year, the Australian Alumni Association of Cambodia (AAA-C) convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2017 on Friday, 29 September at Himawari Hotel & Apartment with support from AAA-C core fund. The setting is cocktail reception and theatre style. This year, AGM has focused only the revised charter endorsement, achievements/activities report in 2016 – 2017 and the work plan for 2017 – 2018.
At the AGM, Dr. Mao Nara, the AAA-C Chair of Board, gave the warm remarked and opening speech for the function with an uplifting remark that summarized the achievements of the AAA-C over the year. He also expressed the appreciation toward members and secretariat that contribute in those achievements.
The function continued by activities reports 2016 – 2017 by Mr. Chhoun Pheak, AAA-C Vice-Chair. He has shown that AAA-C has implemented more than 16 activities including the 7 major activities such as AGM, Australian Alumnus Gala Dinner, Professional Development Series, Alumni Conversation Mentorship Series, Radio Talk Show, Thematic Workshop and Mini Career Fairs. The event was following up with the financial reports by the secretariat. After that, Mr. Saing Sokchea, AAA-C Board member, has presented the work plan which AAA-C aims to implement the activities in 2017 – 2018. There are 10 major activities to be carried out in the upcoming year.
The last program of the function is the revised charter endorsement which was coordinated by Dr. Mao Nara.
The AGM was attended by around 130 alumni members. During this AGM, the newly revised charter of the AAA-C was officially introduced and called for endorsement by Dr. Mao Nara, AAA-C Chair of Board. The charter received an utmost support and endorsement from all members in attendance. This marked another milestone for the association.
